Kona Dolomite with Lacing

Kona Dolomite with Banding

Kona Dolomite is found in Kona Hills, Michigan.  It most often comes in bands/laces of pinks, reds, and browns, but can sometimes include creams, yellows, and blacks.  It is occasionally found with darker, red, splotch-like inclusions of  "Mooseblood."

According to scientific dating methods, this stone is believed to be around 2 billion years old.  It is a form of fossilization known as stromatolite.  Stromatolite is primarily made up of Jasper (as can be seen by the banding) and silicon dioxide.  It is connected to the heart & root chakras.  It is a stone associated with acceptance - both past and present.  If you are having a hard time just "going with the flow," this is the stone for you.
